Older Adults on the Cancer Journey – Part 1

First Aired: October 19, 2014

Older adults face a greater risk of getting cancer than younger populations. And, their risk is heightened by challenges with other illnesses, disabilities, physical and/or mental limitations.  We are joined by Dr. Hyman Muss, the Director of the Geriatric Oncology Program for the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, who will share insight into screening and treatment challenges, doctor/patient relationship, and financial concerns.

A member of Cornucopia’s Medical Advisory Board, Dr. Muss also will present at a free forum, Cancer and Older Adults: Care and Treatment on Nov. 14.  Forum information is available here. You may register online or call UNC Lineberger to RSVP at 919/966-7834.
