Caring for Caregivers through Respite Care
Since our founding in 1995, Cornucopia has always supported caregivers and family members of those in cancer treatment. We want to make sure these “frontline advocates” have the mind-body-spirit support they need, too. Part of that commitment is through respite care.
We have trained volunteers who provide temporary non-medical support at your home to relieve family members from the physical, emotional and spiritual stressors and demands of providing around-the-clock care. This enables caregivers to take a worry-free break and participate in a favorite activity like going to a movie with a friend, shopping, visiting a park, or taking a yoga class. Or, perhaps you need to take care of your own physical and emotional needs with a doctor, dentist or counseling appointment. We know caregivers, like cancer patients, experience fear and uncertainty, loneliness and isolation.
Our Respite Care Program can give you rejuvenating energy, empowerment and hope. For additional information and to schedule Respite Care assistance, please call us at (919)401-9333.
Our Respite Care Program is made possible by a generous grant from the Home Health Foundation of Chapel Hill Endowment Fund of the Triangle Community Foundation.
