Cornucopia invites you to join our group of volunteers by contributing your time and talents. Please call our office at (919)401-9333. Every volunteer role is vital to the success of the organization. The following are some of the areas in which volunteers assist at Cornucopia.

We seek a New Talent Manager to organize volunteers, maintain and staff the front desk and help fill other volunteer opportunities as needed.

Office Assistants

Volunteers do a variety of light secretarial/receptionist duties.Some individuals commit to a specific day and time to volunteer. Others serve as back-ups to be called when one of the office volunteers is unable to fill his/her designated time.

Time Commitment: weekly designated time, 9:30-1 pm or 1-4 pm

Board Members

We’re looking for enthusiastic, high integrity individuals with an interest in supporting and guiding an organization that helps people journeying with cancer. You will be energized by good conversation and be among the dynamic board leaders dedicated to ensuring Cornucopia meets its mission: to be a place where anyone touched by cancer can find the support and resources they need to live life to the fullestâ„¢.

Speakers

Volunteers are trained to make presentations to organizations within the community to raise awareness about Cornucopia, its programs and services.

Hospitality

Volunteers offer to provide food and beverages as needed for various gatherings. They provide snacks for informational forums and at other events throughout the year.

Time Commitment: The time to obtain, bake or cook the items and deliver them to Cornucopia.

Join our volunteers who help out with special projects from time to time, whether it’s creating a public service announcement, a web-based program, or conducting analysis of web traffic or programs. We’d love to have you around!

Community Events

Will Pulley and Clay King

Tables are staffed by Cornucopia volunteers at community events such as health fairs. Volunteers hand out relevant information and answer questions about Cornucopia, our programs and services.

Time Commitment: Varies per event. Usually 1.5-2 hour shift

Fundraising

These volunteers focus on ways to raise funds essential for Cornucopia to meet its mission. Many options exist to raise money for such as good cause. Perhaps you would enjoy hosting a gathering at your home to honor or friend or family member’s birthday, anniversary or other milestone. Perhaps you are a member of a service organization – talk with the leadership about adding Cornucopia to your philanthropic efforts each year.

Major Fundraising Events

Envelope stuffing for A Chocolate Affaire

Cornucopia hosts two major fundraisers each year. A Chocolate Affaire is held in February and our Golf Tourney is held in September. Volunteers may be part of the planning committees for these fundraisers, or help with various tasks prior to, the day or, or after each event.
